Position Overview

Millerbernd Manufacturing is seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Process Engineer to enhance our Ring & Cylinder (R&C) division. The Manufacturing Process Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting production documentation, machinery, and operational workflows. This includes establishing and developing methods of manufacture (MOM) within our ERP system, crafting precise work instructions, setting process and time benchmarks, programming CNC machinery, and creating standard operating procedures to promote best practices while facilitating continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, adjust, and uphold comprehensive and consistent multi-level MOMs within the ERP framework.
  • Oversee all change control processes to ensure accuracy in part routing.
  • Assist in all manufacturing documentation support related to design and engineering.
  • Interpret Engineering/Customer drawings, specifications, and schematics to ensure proper application in production.
  • Collaborate closely with Manufacturing Engineers to establish and maintain standards, enhance processes, and optimize manufacturing capabilities.
  • Engage in and support Continuous Improvement projects.
  • Program CNC machinery, which may involve lasers, plasma cutters, plate processing, milling, and lathe operations.
  • Design tooling to facilitate manufacturing processes.
  • Provide technical assistance to the production team.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred candidates will possess an Associate's Degree in an Engineering Discipline or have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining proficiency in routine tasks.
  • Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, engineering firms, vendors, and technicians.
  • Capability to interpret manufacturing drawings and correlate part specifications to production processes.
  • Basic understanding of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies is preferred.
  • Familiarity with paint, welding, fabrication, and CNC machinery is advantageous.
  • Experience with industry-standard CAD software for design and documentation is beneficial.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to work in a hands-on production environment.
  • Ability to analyze information, listen to feedback, and act accordingly.
  • Competence in collecting and documenting process data, such as time studies and quality metrics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in a manufacturing context.
