Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Nurse to join our Orthopaedic team at University Hospital, Newark NJ. The successful candidate will be a skilled healthcare provider who has a collaborative practice agreement with our physicians and is credentialed through our Medical Staff Office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with practice managers and physicians to develop and implement standards of care for the orthopaedic practice.
  • Mentor and supervise staff and students in the management of orthopaedic patients using evidence-based practice.
  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments, differential diagnoses, and prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments to address the behavioral aspects of illness and disease.
  • Work autonomously and as part of the orthopaedic team to promote wellness through research, education, and public policy impact.
Qualifications

A current Registered/Professional Nurse license and registration in the State of New Jersey are required. A master's degree in nursing and eligibility for certification by a national certifying body are also required. Experience in orthopaedic practice is preferred, and evidence of excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, and creative problem-solving is essential.

Solid computer skills and a minimum of two years' experience in clinical nursing are required. Current BLS certification and participation in pertinent professional and/or specialty organizations are also preferred.
