Job Title: Fitter / Welder

We are seeking an experienced fitter and welder to join our team at Extra Resource Staffing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fitting and welding, with the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical schematics to plan layout and procedures
  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
  • Set up components for fitting and welding according to specifications
  • Operate angle grinders to prepare parts for fitting and welding
  • Align components using tape measures and clamps
  • Fit and/or weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment
  • Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
  • Use protective clothing and follow safe work practices
  • Stand for long periods of time and climb ladders as needed

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a fitter or equipment builder and welder
  • Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures
  • Experience in using electrical and manual tools
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
  • Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program is preferred

Work Environment:

This position is in a manufacturing setting using the usual equipment like computers, box cutters, tape guns, and material moving equipment such as carts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.
