Position Summary

The Prepress Production Specialist is responsible for preparing text and graphics for print production. This role involves designing layouts, organizing text, incorporating digital images, and ensuring the seamless production of files, graphics, proofs, and plates. Collaboration with various departments is essential to resolve issues promptly and guarantee the accurate execution of client projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all quality assurance protocols.
  • Assess each project to determine the most effective methods for timely completion.
  • Manage client files meticulously, ensuring all necessary information is present and that jobs are built according to specifications.
  • Create Apogee files and prepare high- and low-resolution PDFs for client review.
  • Examine electronic files submitted by clients for common production issues.
  • Assist clients in creating compatible files for our workflow, communicating potential issues and suggesting solutions.
  • While primarily focused on production, occasional design tasks may be required.
  • Transform written content and images into finalized layouts for various printing methods.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of creative ideas.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends in retail, advertising, and graphic design.
  • Generate digital prepress proofs to simulate the final printed product and upload files for client approval.
  • Prepare layouts in accordance with detailed work ticket specifications using appropriate software.
  • Review and edit all work for accuracy.
  • Process work tickets as necessary.
  • Prepare electronic files for printing or proofing.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance cost efficiency in prepress operations.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in both Mac and PC environments, with expertise in Apogee, Adobe Acrobat, Enfocus Pit-stop, Adobe Creative Suite, and Flight Check Professional.
  • Experience in data entry and metadata management.
  • Ability to assist in the assembly of shipping materials.
  • Dependability - Consistent attendance and adherence to company policies are essential.
  • Successful performance in this role requires meeting essential duties effectively. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.

Education and Experience:

A minimum of an Associate degree or equivalent experience in a related field is required.

Physical Requirements:
