Job Summary:

The University of California, Irvine seeks a highly skilled Physical Therapist to provide specialized physical therapy support to the Dance Department. As a member of the Claire Trevor School of the Arts, the incumbent will uphold and exemplify excellence in the University's core competencies, including job mastery, goal accomplishment, enterprise contribution, and innovation.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a comprehensive physical therapy program for the Dance Department.
Perform physical therapy evaluations and deliver individualized treatment techniques.
Collaborate with faculty and medical providers to ensure appropriate utilization of physical therapy services.
Conduct research on integrative physical therapy practices and interventions.

Qualifications:

Master or Doctoral preparation in physical therapy from a recognized college or university with an accredited physical therapy program.
Current Basic Life Support Certification.
Clinical internship experience in integrative or holistic physical therapy techniques and/or modalities, including neuromuscular field awareness and neuromuscular field retraining.
Experience developing and conducting physical therapy research.
Demonstrated ability to provide educational presentations and conduct training for physical therapy and/or integrative physical therapy approaches.
Recent (2 years) experience as a physical therapist, with clinical experience or ability to develop competency for Osteopathic Manipulative treatment techniques within 6 months of hire.
Demonstrated experience and specialized knowledge in the integrative practices of Pilates, Yoga, Tai Chi, and/or Qui Gong.
Current California Physical Therapist License.

Preferred Qualifications:

Recent (within 2 years) physical therapy continuing education classes in osteopathic manipulative treatment, holistic physical therapy approaches, and integrative physical therapy approaches.
