Job Title: Intake Registered Nurse

Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of Dallas is a leading provider of inpatient psychiatric treatment for adolescents, adults, and senior adults. Our hospital is located on 22 acres within the DFW metroplex in Garland, Texas, offering a serene and empowered environment for our patients.

The Intake Registered Nurse plays a crucial role in the admissions process, responsible for receiving, scheduling, and triaging in-bound calls and referrals. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in an independent role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive referral calls, obtain demographic information, and refer calls to the appropriate source or schedule an assessment.
  • Process all requests for information and external referrals.
  • Complete pre-certifications as needed.
  • Assist in arranging for patient admission, including verifying benefits and initiating calls to physicians.
  • Determine necessary Releases of Information and process them accordingly.
  • Obtain needed records and information, and arrange disposition and community resources.
  • Maintain statistics, provide support for outcome studies, and communicate with the Utilization Review and Business Office teams.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, practicing good standards of customer service.
Requirements:
  • Valid RN license with the State of Texas.
  • Experience in behavioral health assessment and/or treatment.
  • At least one year of previous experience in an acute behavioral health hospital preferred.
