Job Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care in a Med Surg RN capacity within a 27-bed medical and surgical unit.
  • Participate in a self-scheduling model, with every other weekend commitments.
  • Manage a patient assignment of up to 5 patients.
  • Engage in orientation consisting of 3 shifts to familiarize with the unit and hospital protocols.
  • Collaborate with a team that includes CNAs and unit secretaries to ensure optimal patient care.
Qualifications
  • Must possess current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of North Carolina.
  • Required certifications include BLS and ACLS (AHA only).
  • Preferred experience includes 2 years in a similar role and travel nursing experience.
  • Proficient in IV starts and familiar with EMR systems, preferably MEDITECH.
Unit Specific Information

The unit caters to various patient populations, including those undergoing general surgery, orthopedics, and managing chronic conditions such as CHF and diabetes. The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:5, ensuring focused and personalized care.
