Job Summary

The Physical Therapist 2 (PT 2) is a journey-level therapist responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating physical therapy treatments as assigned by the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Physical Therapy services to complex, complicated patients of all ages in a variety of clinical settings, including Acute Care, ICUs, and Inpatient Rehabilitation.
  • Supervise therapy services provided by Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs).
  • Demonstrate independent judgment related to documentation, billing, and patient-related treatment issues.
  • Act as a resource and provide clinical direction to entry-level Physical Therapists.
  • Assist in orientation of staff and participate in training.
Minimum Qualifications
  • California Licensed Physical Therapist (PHYSTHER) - Must possess and maintain a current California Physical Therapy License.
  • Must possess and maintain CPR certification (American Heart Association or on-site through UC Davis Health System).
  • Must possess a minimum of a Baccalaureate degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Demonstrated recent multiple years of clinical experience in the field of Physical Therapy.
  • Thorough knowledge of physical therapy as identified by Physical Therapy Practice Act and licensure by State of California.
  • Skill in the delivery of physical therapy, evidenced by multiple years past work experience as a physical therapist.
Department Description

The primary purpose of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is to provide a full range of rehabilitation services designed to restore patients to their optimal functional capacity.
