Medical Center Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled RN Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team at Los Alamos Medical Center.
This role offers a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 per year and includes opportunities for ongoing education, certifications, and other learning experiences. Our team-oriented practice model in nursing and commitment to quality initiatives and a culture of safety make us an outstanding place to work as a nurse.
In this role, you will perform plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatments. You will also document patient care given and monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
The successful candidate will assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. They will collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
You will evaluate learning needs of patients and/or families and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. As an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients, you will work to promote a positive patient experience.
**Required Skills and Qualifications**
We require an Associate's or Bachelor's degree and critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. You must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
We also require current BLS upon hire, with NRP and ACLS certification within six months from hire. AWHONN/Intermediate Fetal Monitoring/Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification is preferred within one year from hire or transfer into position. STABLE certification is also preferred.
New hires have ninety (90) days from date of hire to obtain American Heart Association certifications. Notwithstanding this 'grace period' for obtaining American Heart Association certifications, employees are not excused from being current in any and all existing certifications that are required for their position as outlined in the position job description.
