Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team at Core-Mark, a leading provider of fresh and broad-line solutions to the convenience retail industry. As a Carroll Line Haul Driver, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and safe delivery of food and food-related products to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive a tractor trailer on intrastate and interstate local routes to deliver and/or unload food and food-related products to customers in a safe and timely manner.
  • Communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers professionally, ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Perform all required safety checks, including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer, and report any safety issues or repairs required.
  • Follow all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies.
  • Load and unload freight, including customer returns, and secure trailers as needed.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork, including daily records of hours of service and log entries.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clear and clean as required.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
  • 6+ months commercial driving experience
  • Valid CDL-A
  • Must be 21+ years of age
  • Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
  • Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check
  • Pass road test
  • Attains or has valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years foodservice distribution industry experience
  • Onboard computer and electronic log system experience (i.e., PeopleNet)
  • Hand-held point of delivery scanning system experience (i.e., POD)
  • Customer service-related work experience
