Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineer to join our team at our North America Headquarters in Elk Grove Village, IL. As a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for programming and configuring PLCs, HMIs, and robots to meet customer specifications.

Responsibilities:
  • Program and configure PLCs and HMIs according to customer specifications.
  • Provide technical expertise for computer and PLC setup, programming, and assistance.
  • Configure and program network remote I/O devices using Ethernet IP, PROFIBUS, and PROFINET.
  • Work collaboratively with Electrical Engineers and Applications Engineers to complete systems that meet customer expectations and deadlines.
  • Perform startup, testing, and debugging of hardware, including all field devices.
  • Travel to customer facilities to complete installations, make modifications, and support run-offs when necessary.
  • Provide input to engineering, manufacturing, and Yamazen Automation Division Team as appropriate to inform them of findings that are significant to improving existing products and/or new products.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering is preferred.
  • Associates degree or certificate from a two-year college or technical school in PLC programming is acceptable.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of controls programming experience with Allen Bradley and/or Siemens PLCs and HMIs.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical prints.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office suite (WORD, EXCEL, and OUTLOOK) skills.
