Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients, ensuring their safety and well-being, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional care to patients visiting our practice for grooming and/or boarding.
  • Ensure patients are admitted and discharged safely, noting client instructions and recording information accurately.
  • Observe patients' appearance and behavior, reporting any signs of illness or discontent to our veterinary team.
  • Walk patients regularly to provide exercise and ensure elimination of bowels and bladder.
  • Administer medication and provide special food and liquids as required, under the supervision of our veterinary team.
  • Ensure cages and patients are properly numbered and identified, and personal property is stored securely.
  • Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, runs, and stalls regularly, and perform general cleaning in other areas of the hospital.
  • Laundry and dry towels and blankets, and walk hospital grounds to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Assist with the administration of medications, bathing, and grooming services, as authorized by our veterinary team.
Requirements
  • Full or part-time position available.
  • Ability to work on weekends.
  • Previous veterinary experience preferred.
  • Client satisfaction references preferred.
  • Ability to lift patients up to 25 pounds, and patients over 25 pounds with assistance.
  • Practices OSHA safety techniques, including proper PPE.
