Job Description

**Job Title:** Fire Protection Engineer

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Protection Engineer to join our team at V2X. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise in fire protection engineering, project management, and operations management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Manage project design and/or construction efforts, including schedule, funding, and day-to-day project oversight.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and assistance on contracting and construction-related issues, direct design efforts, and recommend construction documents for approval.
  • Operations Management: Oversee and coordinate activities with trade shops, including prioritization of work, review of ongoing projects, and inspection of installed equipment.
  • Engineering Support: Provide engineering support for senior engineering staff, including design work in AutoCAD and site evaluations.
  • Communication: Prepare and distribute project communication with customers, management, integrated project teams, and stakeholders.
  • Contract Management: Assist the client's Contracting Officer (CO) and Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR) with acquisition planning, execution, and administration.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure timely input of all data, comments, and documentation into MAXIMO software project management tool.
  • Integration: Ensure integration of all systems, including information technology, telephone, security, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing.
  • Reporting: Prepare Contractor Performance Report (CPR) upon contract closeout.
  • Professional Development: Stay current on fire protection understanding through professional literature and conferences.
  • Expertise: Act as fire protection expert for governmental authorities and policy makers.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or BS in related Engineering discipline.
  • Experience: Five (5) years fire protection engineering experience in a similar field.
  • Clearance: Current, adjudicated, and active TS-SCI w/Poly clearance.
  • Skills: Experience with fire protection and life safety aspects applicable to chemical processes, wet chemistry and laser laboratories, radiological laboratories, high-hazard and nuclear facilities.
  • Abilities: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, ability to communicate well verbally and in writing at all organizational levels.
