Job Overview

General Summary: Western Engineering Contractors Inc. is in search of a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator for our Underground Division, offering full-time employment opportunities. With over 40 years of experience, Western Engineering is a well-established contractor based in Loomis, serving the greater Sacramento area and its surrounding foothills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently operates excavators while working around existing utilities.
  • Handles various types of construction machinery, including motor graders, asphalt paving machines, backhoes, tractors, and scrapers to excavate, transport, spread, compact, and grade earth, rock, and asphalt materials.

Education Requirements: A high school diploma is preferred.

Experience Requirements: A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator is required.

Desired Knowledge and Skills:

  • Familiarity with construction machinery, its capacities, and safe operating practices.
  • Ability to perform precision work safely and efficiently.
  • Understanding of material handling techniques and procedures.
  • Awareness of local site conditions.
  • Capability to interpret plans and stakes.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations.

Licenses/Certifications: A valid Driver's License is necessary.
