Your Role:

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for coordinating the efforts of the multidisciplinary care team for patients within their scope of practice. The RN delivers direct patient care, collaborates with patients, families, colleagues, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective care delivery to a specific patient demographic. Utilizing the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation), the RN aims to maintain and enhance patient outcomes.

The RN exemplifies leadership and management capabilities while committing to professional accountability and growth. The RN aspires to progress from novice to expert, becoming an evidence-based practitioner to provide optimal patient care and advocate for their patients. The RN serves as a role model for the mission, vision, and values of Shawnee Mission Health, ensuring compliance with the Kansas Nurse Practice Act and all relevant regulations and established protocols.
