About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our Surgery Team at BluePearl Vet, LLC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and supporting our veterinarians in delivering high-quality medical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
  • Utilize your ability to place peripheral intravenous catheters in cephalic veins.
  • Perform physical exams, accurately counting heart rate, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate, and effort.
  • Understand normal vital parameters and alert veterinarians when abnormal.
  • Set up intravenous fluids and administer subcutaneous fluids as needed.
  • Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and troubleshoot errors.
  • Disconnect and reconnect patients from intravenous fluids aseptically.
  • Monitor patient response to fluid therapy, including signs of overload.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of two or more years of experience in a veterinary hospital.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic life support certification.
