About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technician to join our team at the Veterans Health Administration. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a critical role in providing assistance to surgeons and other medical professionals during surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist surgeons and other medical professionals during surgical procedures, ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.
  • Prepare and maintain sterile fields, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are available and properly sterilized.
  • Transport patients to and from the operating room, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of surgical procedures, working closely with the surgical team to ensure the best possible outcomes.
  • Monitor and maintain the proper functioning of surgical equipment, reporting any issues or concerns to the surgical team.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technician or in a related field.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other medical professionals.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
