Job Overview

Egan Company is seeking skilled professionals to fill the role of Security Technicians for various customer opportunities in the Greater Twin Cities area. This is a union position offering top-rate wages, comprehensive benefits, and a stable work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, service, and repair Access, Security, and CCTV systems, as well as peripheral devices.
  • Program various security systems, including Lenel, S2, Sielox, and Bosch.
  • Assist with the start-up and commissioning of new equipment or system installations.
  • Overcome challenges on retrofits and new installations.
  • Train and instruct new users on life safety equipment.
  • Daily communication with the Project Manager.
  • Completion of daily safety and additional documents.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience installing and programming Fire Alarm Systems.
  • Valid MN Power Limited Technician license.
  • NICET Certification preferred (Egan Company can assist with certification).
  • Knowledge of current codes when applicable.
  • Valid driver's license for travel between job sites.
  • 3-year Limited Energy JATC training or equivalent experience in the industry.
  • Current IBEW Member or willingness to join the local IBEW.
  • Overtime may be required based on workload.
Qualifications
  • Ability to read and mark up prints.
  • Leadership and team direction skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds (alone) or 50 to 85 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to climb a ladder and work at heights.
  • Highly motivated and able to multitask.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools in a safe manner.
  • Good hand dexterity and strength.
