We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Nurse I to join our team at Cook County Health and Hospitals. As a Clinical Nurse I, you will be responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients of various ages, utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
Key Responsibilities- Provides direct patient care to patients of various ages, utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Effectively interacts with patients, correctional officers, peers, department heads, physicians, and a multi-disciplinary health team.
- Maintains standards of professional nursing, utilizing critical thinking and problem-solving skills to effect positive patient outcomes.
- Directs, supervises, and coordinates the activity of ambulatory and infirmary personnel, including Licensed Practical Nurses and other nursing support staff.
- Offers constructive suggestions for the improvement of patient care, clinical management, interdepartmental relationships, and health education of patients.
- Participates in quality improvement and fiscal accountability, demonstrating flexibility and participating in environmental change.
- Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Illinois.
- Current CPR card is required.
- One year of recent, within the last three years, paid clinical experience in acute care or an ambulatory facility is preferred.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
- Drug/alcohol dependency or case management experience is preferred.
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing is preferred.
