\The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Surgical Technologist to join our team. As an integral member of our surgical staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the success of our surgical procedures.
\Estimated Salary Range: $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.
\Job Description Summary:

- Administer intra-operative care to patients within the surgical/operating room environment.\
- Care for surgical patients of all ages and all levels of acuity.\
- Effectively function in the sterile environment, demonstrating knowledge and ability in performing the role of first scrub on all assigned surgical cases.\
- Use the principles of asepsis to assist the surgeon in the maintenance of the sterile field, providing for optimal patient care in the OR.\
- Integrate physiologic, medical, surgical, and anesthetic information to give appropriate patient care.\
- Collaborate with anesthesia, surgeons, and other staff members to ensure seamless patient care.\
- Assist the surgeon in maintaining the sterile field and adhering to aseptic techniques.\
- Prepare operating rooms and equipment for surgical procedures.\
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care and surgical procedures.\
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with advancements in surgical technology.\
- Work effectively as part of a team to provide exceptional patient care and ensure the success of surgical procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.\
- Completion of an approved surgical technologist program required.\
- Previous experience as a surgical technologist preferred.\
- Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist with the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) required.\
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.\
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.\
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.\
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.\
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
