Audiologist, Full Time

As an Audiologist at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive hearing and balance disorder care to patients of all ages. Your expertise will encompass evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, education, and referral services, all within our integrated Care Delivery model. You will work closely with families, physicians, and other team members to ensure seamless care and effective communication.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct comprehensive hearing diagnostic evaluations, including pure tone air/bone thresholds, speech reception threshold, word recognition, middle ear analysis, and site of lesion determination.
- Interpret results and assess patient lifestyle, providing counseling on evaluation outcomes, recommended follow-up, and treatment plans.
- Counsel patients on hearing loss, hearing aids, and listening strategies, selecting appropriate assistive listening and amplification devices.
- Custom fit and program hearing aids, troubleshoot hearing aid problems, and perform electroacoustic analysis and Rear Ear measurement.
- Provide counseling on tinnitus, hearing conservation, and communication strategies, demonstrating understanding of physiologic and psychological effects of hearing loss.
- Collaborate with Physical Therapy on vestibular disorders and Oncology on Otototoxic monitoring.
- Participate in departmental training, identify learning needs, and engage in continuing education programs.
- Minimum one (1) year of clinical experience (concurrent with Doctorate training).
- Clinical Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.).
- Audiologist License (Washington) required at hire.
- Verbal and written communication skills, with ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, co-workers, and other health care professionals.
- Four (4) years of experience in diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology.
- Expert level competence in required areas, with specialty skills in advanced vestibular evaluation, Bone Anchored Hearing Aids, Cochlear Implants, and tinnitus treatment.
