Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team and contribute to the efficient operation of our heavy equipment fleet. In this role, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of diesel-powered machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on all diesel vehicles and heavy equipment, including tractors, roll-off trucks, lugger trucks, loaders, excavators, forklifts, and more.
  • Diagnose and repair a variety of mechanical issues related to diesel engines and associated systems.
  • Perform repairs, replacements, reconditioning, disassembly, welding, and examination of parts and engines.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of tools and supplies.
  • Communicate effectively with internal customers (yard, warehouse, transportation staff, and management) in a professional manner.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years of experience as a diesel mechanic or equivalent trade school training.
  • Possession of your own set of tools.
  • A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is a plus.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (over 50 pounds).
  • Physical capability to squat, kneel, bend, twist, sit, and stand for extended periods.
