About the Role

Effective School Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate School-Based Therapist to join our team. As a School-Based Therapist, you will work with a small group of students with significant behavioral and emotional needs, providing clinical services that promote academic and mental health stability.

Clinical Responsibilities
  • Deliver clinical interventions consistent with the needs of the student and family, in a safe and ethical manner.
  • Demonstrate competency in group therapy, individual counseling, and family counseling.
  • Provide family programming, including monthly evening parent support groups as needed.
  • Understand the continuum of mental health services and refer students and families to an appropriate level of care in coordination with their supervisor.
  • Provide consultation and facilitate referrals to appropriate levels of care and specialized services based on the student's needs.
  • Optimize the collaboration and coordination of the interdisciplinary team to enhance the environment of student care.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to developing strong working relationships with school administration, district leadership, teachers, and paraprofessionals.
Administrative Responsibilities
  • Submit clinical documentation in a timely manner, aligned with the electronic medical record.
  • Participate in all team meetings, including administrative school meetings, ESS town hall meetings, ESS supervision meetings, and treatment team meetings.
  • Maintain current professional licensure and adhere to ethical standards in accordance with governing board.
  • Consistently attend work on scheduled days and times, in professional attire and with a professional demeanor.
  • Participate in learning opportunities provided by ESS, such as supervision groups and treatment planning, to advance knowledge of clinical interventions and skills.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Must have 2+ years of experience treating children and/or adolescents with significant behavioral and emotional challenges.
  • Must have a minimum active associate number (ASW, AMFT, or APCC).
  • A clinical license in LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC.
  • Effective problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Experience working with students and families, plus community health and social service agencies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort using a computer.
  • Ability to complete thorough clinical documentation.
