Job Summary:
The Grounds Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for maintaining the grounds of the Good Samaritan facilities, ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors, and employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mulch plant areas, around trees and signage, to maintain a visually appealing landscape.
- Prune trees and bushes to promote healthy growth and safety.
- Use string weed trimmers and pull weeds around the hospital to prevent overgrowth.
- Assist in cleaning of outbuildings, storage areas, and parking lots as needed to maintain a clean and organized environment.
- Edge sidewalks and curbs to ensure a safe and accessible path for pedestrians.
- Clean up any mess incurred while performing a job to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Adhere to all infection control policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and employees.
- Apply weed killer to prevent weed growth and maintain a clean landscape.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Recycle all recyclable material when possible to reduce waste and promote sustainability.
- Perform any other jobs assigned to ensure a smooth operation of the facilities.
- Be capable of working around patients, visitors, and hospital employees to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
- Drive a motor vehicle to pick up and deliver supplies as needed.
- Assist with setting up at hospital events to ensure a smooth and successful event.
Requirements:
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
- Experience: Two or more years of work experience and a valid driver's license.
