Job Summary:The LPN will work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse to provide medication dispensing and nursing assistance in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. The successful candidate will also act as the HIV Coordinator, responsible for tracking HIV patients and ensuring they receive proper medical care.
Responsibilities:- Assist the Registered Nurse in performing duties and provide support in the absence of the Registered Nurse.
- Verify patient identification and observe behavior to ensure proper medication administration.
- Act as the HIV Coordinator, tracking HIV patients and ensuring they receive proper medical care.
- Maintain medical charts, appointment books, and daily visit logbooks.
- Perform independent nursing follow-up care and assist in identifying and recalling patients for follow-up medical and nursing care.
- Assist in admission and physical examinations, and provide laboratory data to physicians and physician assistants.
- Attend clinic meetings and perform tasks to improve quality of care, productivity, and participant satisfaction.
- Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, vital signs, and assist in urine collection.
- Licensed Practical Nursing state certification required.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Three (3) years of nursing experience preferred.
- Excellent computer skills and working knowledge of electronic medical records required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with patients and co-workers.
- Strong teamwork capabilities.
- Passionate about working with individuals who need assistance.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.
- Personal experience with recovery and/or criminal justice issues a plus.
