LaBella Associates is seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our Charlotte, NC office. As a key member of our Structures Discipline, you will provide structural engineering services with a focus on new design, repair, and rehabilitation of constructed works, as well as investigation and performance evaluation.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead a team of structural engineers, designers, and/or draftspersons in the production of structural construction documents, including drawings, specifications, bidding, and construction administration for large complex projects.
- Develop cost-effective system layouts and perform calculations and coordination with other disciplines.
- Perform site visits for documentation and cost estimating of existing systems and building conditions.
- Prepare technical specifications and review and evaluate shop drawings and product submittals.
- Visit construction sites to inspect work in progress or completed and maintain and manage budgets for projects, including hours and resources.
- Mentor Structural Designers and Junior Engineers, including calculation and document reviews, and maintain client relationships.
- Prepare Engineering Reports and complete complex and specialty types of design, staying abreast of technical advancements in the field and disseminating information to others.
- 10 to 15 years of experience working at a consulting engineering firm.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
- BS in Civil Engineering required, North Carolina State PE license required, Revit experience a plus, and project history using computer analysis software essential.
