Job Title: Preschool Teacher

Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) is seeking a dedicated and passionate Preschool Teacher to join our team. As a Preschool Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the lives of young children and helping them develop essential skills for future success.

About the Role:

The Preschool Teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing educational activities for pre-school aged children, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment that promotes learning and growth. You will work closely with colleagues to develop and implement lesson plans, assess children's progress, and communicate with parents to ensure a collaborative approach to education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement daily lesson plans that meet federal performance standards and promote educational and enrichment activities for pre-school age children.
  • Assess children's developmental and educational needs and develop individual education plans that comply with federal performance standards.
  • Monitor and maintain a safe and healthy environment for children, including meal and snack periods, classroom and restroom activities, and playground activities.
  • Communicate effectively with parents through parent conferences, written correspondence, and telephone to apprise them of child's progress, upcoming events, and classroom activities.
  • Conduct health checks on children and report to the Health Coordinator as needed.
  • Ensure lessons and classroom activities align with the Florida Pre-Kindergarten standards.
  • Conduct Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten assessments as required.
Requirements:
  • Baccalaureate or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • Two years of experience teaching Head Start, Early Head Start, pre-school or kindergarten age children.
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR within 90 days from the date of hire.
  • Successful completion of a Level II background screening, local criminal record check, and drug screening prior to hiring.
