Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, assessing needs, planning, implementing, and evaluating medical and nursing regimens.
- Collaborate with patients, family members, peers, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
- Utilize the nursing process to meet the age-specific needs of patients, ensuring biophysical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and environmental considerations.
- Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, addressing issues and taking appropriate actions to ensure patient safety and satisfaction.
- Adhere to infection control standards, Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals, and ANA Code of Nursing Ethics & Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice.
- Delegate activities to ancillary staff as per the State Nurse Practice Act and support the Facility Professional Nursing Practice Model.
- Participate in Performance Improvement initiatives, complete competency requirements, and attend mandatory in-services and staff meetings.
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with a current New York RN license/registration.
- BSN required, with one year of acute care nursing experience preferred.
- Successful completion of Department and Unit Orientation Program.
- BLS certification (through American Heart Association) is required, with ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications also necessary.
