About the Role:

Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Exercise Physiologist to join our team. As an Exercise Physiologist, you will be responsible for conducting cardiopulmonary exercise testing, developing and modifying patient-specific testing protocols, and analyzing data to generate clinical reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct cardiopulmonary exercise testing according to established guidelines.
  • Develop and modify patient-specific testing protocols and individualized patient exercise prescriptions for provider review.
  • Analyze data, testing measures, and generate clinical reports.
  • Review patient history to determine who may be at high risk during the study.
  • Notify physician/fellow and high-risk team of pending patient tests.
  • Ensure lab is prepared, confirming safety checklist has been followed.
  • Provide accurate preliminary reports for physician utilization.
  • Present information obtained from test results to healthcare providers' team.
  • Perform first echelon maintenance and calibration of medical instrumentation for exercise testing/therapy and data analysis.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's of Science Degree with a concentration in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a directly related field.
  • Strong background in exercise physiology.
  • Master's Degree in Exercise Science is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in exercise testing is strongly preferred.
  • Analytical skills to gather and interpret clinical patient data.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.
  • Ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies.
