Job Summary

The LPN School Health provides school health services as directed by the School Health Services, Clinical Coordinator (Registered Nurse) to the student population serviced. This role requires a licensed practical nurse to provide clinical care, maintain student health records, and communicate with parents, school authorities, and allied professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Provides school health services as directed by Registered Nurse and contracts.
  • Maintains appropriate student health records and documents services rendered.
  • Provides the clinical care necessary within the department, including routine, special needs, and emergency first aid.
  • Communicates with parents/guardians, school authorities, and allied professionals.
  • Participates in the educational efforts of the department and the hospital.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age and developmental status.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
  • Experience as an LPN is required.
  • Experience in a school setting is preferred.
  • Minimum 6 months experience in healthcare is required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required.
Education and Experience
  • Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing is required.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse licensure is required.
  • 6 months of relevant experience is required.
  • No experience supervising is required.
