Fort Hays State University is seeking a skilled Plumber to join our team. As a Plumber, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems in our facilities. This includes installing new plumbing systems, repairing leaks, and performing preventative maintenance to ensure the smooth operation of our water and steam systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, test, and repair plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and appliances.
- Maintain and repair steam systems, including boilers, pumps, and valves.
- Perform preventative maintenance on plumbing and steam systems to prevent leaks and other issues.
- Respond to emergency calls to repair leaks and other issues.
- Work with blueprints and specifications to plan and execute plumbing and steam system repairs and installations.
- Collaborate with other maintenance staff to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Three years of experience as a journeyman-level plumber required.
- Associate's degree or vocational school certification may be substituted for one year of experience.
- Current plumbing license required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
