Job Summary

This role is responsible for safeguarding all Modoc Nation Casino assets and maintaining the integrity of gaming operations while providing a safe environment for employees and guests. The Security Officer will work under the direct supervision of the Surveillance and Security Officer Manager and under the indirect supervision of the General Manager or designee.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guard and monitor premises to prevent theft, property destruction, violence, or rules and safety violations.
  • Perform fire prevention, safety, and maintenance tasks, as well as parking and traffic enforcement.
  • Provide information to incoming guests and tenants, and offer assistance as needed.
  • Conduct regular tours to check for irregularities and inspect protection devices and fire control equipment.
  • Escort casino property when being transported from one location to another.
  • Assist with emergency situations, including crowd control and providing support to local law enforcement agencies.
  • Assist guests, vendors, employees, or other visitors as needed.
  • Respond to emergency medical situations.
  • Maintain a cohesive work environment through teamwork within the department and with other departments.
  • Answer phones, monitor radios, and perform data entry.
  • Complete incident reports and submit them in a timely manner.
  • Use a two-way radio for communication, adhering to proper etiquette.
Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must have one to two years of related experience or training (preferred).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Modoc Nation Gaming License.
  • May be subject to a criminal background investigation.
  • Must possess high integrity regarding confidential and sensitive information.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and meet deadlines.
Regulatory Compliance
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with other Company staff and all applicable regulatory commissions and agencies.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with gaming operations core values, objectives of the Modoc Nation, system of internal control policies and procedures, as well as applicable laws and gaming regulations.
