Position Overview

As a Scientist III in our microbiology division, you will leverage your scientific expertise to oversee and conduct critical projects within our environmental testing laboratory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct analyses of water samples utilizing established microbiological techniques to detect Legionella and other pathogens.
  • Ensure proper maintenance, calibration, and cleanliness of laboratory equipment.
  • Maintain thorough and organized records of all laboratory activities.
  • Validate and authorize laboratory results.
  • Assist with various laboratory tasks including sample processing, filter preparation, and labeling.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related discipline, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in microbiological culture examination (plate reading).
  • Experience with bacterial identification methods such as latex agglutination, MALDI-ToF mass spectrometry, and Direct Fluorescent Antibody Staining is advantageous.
  • Ability to work in a laboratory or office environment, stand for extended periods, and handle samples while adhering to safety protocols.
