Our state-of-the-art facility offers a wide range of specialty services, including dermatology, internal medicine, medical oncology, neurology, surgery, ophthalmology, physical rehabilitation, urgent care, and emergency services.
Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a key member of our veterinary support staff, you will work closely with our veterinarians and other technicians to provide high-quality patient care and support.
Responsibilities:- Assist veterinarians and other technicians with patient exams, medical treatments, and procedures
- Collect and handle laboratory samples, perform in-house laboratory tests, and store and package samples for outside submission
- Restrain patients for exams and medical treatments, and provide nursing updates as needed
- Provide client education and support, including obtaining and writing histories, providing treatment plans and financial updates, and reviewing discharge summaries
- Assist with radiology procedures, including requesting, positioning patients, and taking radiographs and CT scans
- Participate in laboratory, radiology, and surgery/anesthesia prep teams
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) credential, or equivalent (RVT, LVT), from an accredited veterinary technician program
- Current certification and licensure in the state of practice
- Solid understanding of veterinary medical terminology, procedures, and pharmacology
- Technical knowledge in a clinical setting acquired through apprenticeship, degree pursuit, or professional certification
- Hands-on experience working in Surgery or Specialty Medicine unit of a veterinary hospital
