Job Title: Librarian II

Join the City of Boca Raton, FL team as a Librarian II and contribute to the delivery of exceptional library services to the community.

Job Summary:

The Librarian II is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the Instructional Services team, overseeing the development and implementation of programs and services, and ensuring the effective administration of library operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, organize, and direct the work of the Instructional Services team, including supervising professional and paraprofessional personnel.
  • Develop and implement programs and services that meet the educational, recreational, cultural, and informational needs of the community.
  • Oversee the budgeting, training, and evaluation of library operations, including the management of resources and personnel.
  • Collaborate with the Technology & Digital Services Librarian III to ensure the effective use of technology and digital resources in library services.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and library patrons to promote library services and programs.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to ensure the library remains relevant and effective in meeting community needs.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited program.
  • Three years of experience working in public or academic libraries, with two years of supervisory experience.
  • Valid Florida driver's license.
