About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Healthcare Operations Lead to join our team at Optum. As a key member of our clinical consulting team, you will play a critical role in driving the implementation and long-term management of clinical solutions for our strategic healthcare system clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Engagement Oversight: Provide day-to-day engagement oversight to ensure delivery excellence, including presenting executive-level reports and dashboards for demonstrating outcomes.
  • Client Expectation Management: Ensure that client expectations and contract deliverables are met during the strategic client engagement.
  • Clinical Subject Matter Expertise: Provide clinical subject matter expertise to support teams that have an initiative to drive financial and quality outcomes.
  • Complex Challenge Analysis: Structure complex acute and post-acute care delivery challenges into frameworks that can be analyzed and solved, and coordinate integration of Optum solutions across the continuum of care into client partnerships.
  • Assessment and Scope Development: Lead and participate in assessment activities to establish the scope of Optum engagement to address health system clinical operations opportunities while implementing Optum solutions.
  • Team Management: Oversee and manage Optum Advisory team members either directly or through a matrixed, client-based environment.
  • Junior Team Development: Identify and support the junior consulting team in professional development opportunities.
  • Customer Satisfaction and Service Recovery: Understand and apply customer satisfaction and service recovery principles.
Requirements
  • Leadership Experience: 7+ years of professional leadership experience in hospital/health system clinical operations.
  • Complex Healthcare Experience: 5+ years of experience working in a highly matrixed and complex healthcare organization.
  • Operating Plan Development: 5+ years of experience developing and implementing hospital/health system operating plans, analyzing financial and quality data.
  • Clinical Consulting Experience: 5+ years of clinical consulting experience across multiple clinical and cost improvement-related areas.
  • Change Management and Performance Improvement: 2+ years of experience in change management and performance improvement methodology.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient ability to use Microsoft products, develop and deliver presentations.
  • On-Site Requirements: Willing and able to be onsite in Maine, Monday - Friday, (3) weeks per month and depending on client needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse: Registered Nurse with current/active license in state of residence.
  • Health Systems Understanding: 7+ years of foundational understanding of health systems/provider organizations.
  • Insightful Communication: Proven ability to provide valuable insights and logical explanations when faced with difficult questions.
