General Summary:

A tactical and hands-on shift supervisor responsible for overseeing maintenance personnel and all aspects of facilities upkeep, including buildings, grounds, and support equipment. The primary objective is to ensure maximum system uptime by directly managing all maintenance operations, including preventive maintenance, repairs, and work orders. Responsibilities must be executed in compliance with safety regulations and within designated time frames. Regular audits of preventive maintenance and repairs will be conducted to ensure proper execution, with retraining provided to technicians as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the repair and maintenance of the facility and all associated equipment.
  • Assign and routinely audit work orders, prioritizing safety and production-related tasks.
  • Assist maintenance staff with diagnostics and repairs as necessary.
  • Manage the MP2 system to maintain current and accurate database information, including preventive maintenance schedules, work orders, and parts inventory.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance manager to provide part numbers and quantities for reordering supplies used during maintenance activities.
  • Engage with vendors for quotes and technical information to sustain productive relationships with suppliers and contractors.
  • Oversee quarterly physical inventory counts and ensure proper labeling and par levels of parts.
  • Coordinate with facility management to address maintenance needs effectively.
  • Conduct facility tours to assess and maintain overall condition.
  • Train and retrain associates based on audit findings to ensure safe and proper completion of maintenance tasks.
  • Work with the Maintenance Manager and Human Resources to execute disciplinary actions or recommend terminations as appropriate.
  • Share relevant information and anticipate the informational needs of associates.
  • Provide consistent feedback and updates to the maintenance manager through shift handoffs and other communication methods.
  • Assist the maintenance manager with administrative tasks and other functions as required.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering is preferred. A minimum of three years of maintenance and supervisory experience is preferred. Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance and safety practices is essential. Candidates should possess excellent leadership, administrative, organizational, managerial, and communication skills. The ability to analyze information and develop effective solutions is crucial. Proficiency in blueprint reading is required. The role demands rapid and thorough independent decision-making and creative problem-solving skills, along with sound judgment and accountability for responsibilities. Proficiency in PC applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access is necessary.
