Vascular Surgeon

We are seeking a highly skilled Vascular Surgeon to join our team at the Harry S Truman Memorial Veterans' Hospital. As a Vascular Surgeon, you will provide expert care to our patients, including inpatient and outpatient services, and participate in educational activities related to the Surgery residency program.
Responsibilities- Provide Vascular Surgery care of inpatient and outpatient services in keeping with good clinical practice and standards of the Surgery Service.
- Participate in educational activities related to the Surgery residency program.
- Collaborate with physician extenders and nursing care providers throughout the hospital.
- Collaborate with attendings from other disciplines to ensure a collaborative approach is taken to meet the needs of the Veteran patient.
- Be a resource for inpatient and outpatient providers, to ensure a smooth transition of patients from inpatient to outpatient settings.
- Provide expertise in multispecialty and patient care-related discussions.
- Provide inpatient and outpatient Vascular Surgery consultation services to non-medicine teams, including direct supervision and education of medical consultation house staff.
- Provide inpatient Vascular Surgery attending services, including clinical procedures within your specialty area of expertise on the general medicine teams.
- United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
- Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Board certified in general surgery and vascular surgery.
The duties and responsibilities of the Vascular Surgeon include, but are not limited to the following: Provide Vascular Surgery care of inpatient and outpatient services in keeping with good clinical practice and standards of the Surgery Service at the Harry S Truman Memorial Veterans' Hospital.
