Job Title: Behavioral Health Technician Night Shift

At Peachtree Detox, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician to join our team on a night shift basis.

Job Summary:

The Behavioral Health Technician will play a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment for our clients. This includes assisting clients with daily routines, monitoring their well-being, and reporting any changes in their physical or mental condition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record and maintain accurate logs of client belongings, valuables, and return tickets.
  • Complete lab requisitions as per protocol and ensure timely submission.
  • Conduct regular rounds to monitor clients and log their whereabouts.
  • De-escalate conflicts and provide emotional support to clients as needed.
  • Participate in staff meetings and maintain open communication with colleagues.
  • Ensure a clean and organized work environment, including the group room and surrounding areas.
  • Hand over relevant information to the next shift technician and maintain a logbook for continuity of care.
  • Attend required training sessions and stay up-to-date with industry developments.
  • Supervise clients during activities and remind them of program rules and regulations as necessary.
  • Refer clients to therapy staff for clinical issues and provide emotional support as needed.
  • Complete assigned paperwork accurately and efficiently.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues to promote quality client care.
  • Identify and report safety and maintenance issues promptly.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and interact respectfully with clients.
  • Exercise sound judgment and seek assistance when necessary to manage client behavior.
  • Protect client confidentiality in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
  • Transport clients as required and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in substance abuse and/or mental health settings is desirable.
  • Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record.

Work Environment:

This role requires working in a temperature-controlled environment for 80-90% of the time. Potential exposure to violent situations, airborne/blood-borne pathogens, or other infectious materials may occur.
