As a Principal Interaction Designer, you will be part of a talented team driving the vision and evolution of the AspenTech Design System. Collaborate with design, development, product, and brand stakeholders to refine the Design System's visual language, components, patterns, documentation, and delivery. Set the standard for design quality across the organization and serve as an Accessibility advocate. Mentor junior designers, ensuring design best practices and high-quality project outcomes. Join a design-thinking UX team revolutionizing industrial engineering software.

Key Responsibilities

• Design high-quality, visually appealing components and patterns in a systematic and detail-oriented manner.

• Evolve the visual design language to create a modern, distinct user experience that aligns with AspenTech's brand identity.

• Act as a thought leader for Accessibility, promoting its importance within the organization.

• Work closely with development to ensure pixel-perfect implementation and smooth adoption in products.

• Engage with senior leadership and functional leaders to craft and communicate a clear vision and roadmap for the Design System.

• Align expectations, goals, and guidelines among cross-functional teams.

• Own and maintain the Design System documentation website.

• Evangelize Aspen UX within the organization and externally to the industry and world.

• Mentor and invest in other team members.

Requirements

• Degree in human-centered design, visual design, computer science, research, psychology, or related field.

• 8+ years of proven experience in web or product design.

• Exceptional portfolio in visual interface design, showcasing expertise in scaling visual and motion design concepts across different applications.

• Exceptional visual design skills focusing on clean, modern, highly interactive interfaces.

• Expert knowledge in Accessibility and WCAG guidelines.

• Self-driven nature with demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate well within a team.

• Systems-thinking ability to extrapolate and extend shared patterns and behaviors.

• Professional experience with design tools such as Figma.

• Deep understanding of web technology.

• Excellent communication skills, making complex information clear and concise in writing and speaking.
