Job Summary

The University of Miami is seeking a highly skilled CAT Scan Technologist 2 to join our team in the Radiology Department. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing complex procedures in CT scan, operating radiographic equipment, and obtaining high-quality diagnostic images with minimal radiation exposure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review CT scan orders for appropriateness, notify supervisors of discrepancies, and contact physicians' offices as needed.
  • Verify patient identities, maintain accurate records, and apply age-specific care needs according to competency validation checklists.
  • Perform complex tasks associated with CT scanner operation, adhering to radiation safety procedures and age-appropriate standards of practice.
  • Integrate diagnostic results, patient history, and medical records to adapt exams as necessary, adhering to CT protocols and high-quality ultrasound standards.
  • Assist with patient positioning, maintain aseptic technique, and keep work areas clean and sanitary.
  • Evaluate CT scans for technical quality, label and transmit images, and report unusual findings to radiologists or supervisory personnel.
  • Dispense oral contrast, load and operate power injectors, and provide assistance with orientation, training, and education of students and new technologists.
  • Participate in research initiatives, develop new protocols, and assist radiologists and PhDs in developing unique CAT Scan imaging techniques.
  • Monitor charging of procedures and supplies, adhere to University and unit-level policies, and safeguard University assets.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in a relevant field.
  • ARRT registration.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Skills in completing assignments accurately, analyzing and prioritizing work, and handling confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary, and commitment to the University's core values.
