Springfield Clinic is currently in search of a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Transitional Care Unit. This position involves providing exceptional nursing care in a specialized recovery environment.

The Registered Nurse in the RCC-Extended Recovery Care is tasked with overseeing the post-operative recovery of patients admitted to our advanced recovery care facility. This role emphasizes a patient-centered approach, utilizing the nursing process to ensure comprehensive care for post-surgical and endoscopic patients. Our facility offers a unique environment where nurses can support patients throughout their recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient admissions, ensuring they are comfortable and informed about the care process. Complete necessary documentation and implement post-operative orders.
  • Monitor and assess patients during the recovery phase, ensuring compliance with established protocols.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate quality care services for all patients.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Participate in cross-training initiatives to support various areas within the facility.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while adhering to ethical standards and organizational policies.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support the nursing team and patient care.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • A minimum of three to five years of relevant nursing experience is preferred.

Licensure and Certifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Illinois.
  • CPR certification in accordance with American Heart Association guidelines.
  • ACLS certification required within six months of employment.
  • BLS Basic Life Support certification.

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to adapt to varying situations and work flexible hours.
  • Strong emotional control and professional demeanor under pressure.
  • Proficient in using medical equipment and technology.
  • Capable of performing physical tasks, including lifting and transferring patients.

Work Environment

  • Exposure to clinical settings, including potential hazards associated with patient care.
  • Occasional heavy lifting may be required.
