Lead Vehicle Mechanic Specialist

Clean Harbors is seeking a skilled Lead Vehicle Mechanic Specialist to oversee daily shop operations and ensure maintenance work aligns with DOT compliance and company health and safety policies. This role requires 5-7 years of diesel engine experience and a commitment to safety and teamwork.

Estimated Salary
$36-$38 per hour based on experience, with opportunities for increase after 90 days. Additionally, you will receive comprehensive health benefits coverage after 30 days of full-time employment, group 401K/RRSP with company matching component, and access to company-paid OEM certifications and trainings.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes
• Performing preventative maintenance, conducting inspections, troubleshooting, diagnosing failures & deficiencies, and performing necessary corrections
• Completing daily checklists as required for proper operation of units being operated
• Assuring units have daily maintenance duties performed and communicating any problems or issues with units immediately upon discovery
• Conducting Safety Checks & Annual Vehicle Inspections in accordance with provincial & federal laws
Required Skills and Qualifications
• 5-7 years of diesel engine experience
• Ability to work in team environment
• Must be versed in all aspects (e.g., electrical, computer, ECMs, fuel, air systems, ABS, hydraulic systems, engines)
• Demonstrates complete proficiency in diagnostic, repair, and maintenance of heavy-duty vehicles (forklifts, roll off trucks, forklifts, pick up trucks, box trucks, tractors, and tankers)
• Demonstrates complete proficiency in tooling and equipment diagnostic, repair, and maintenance
