Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Bus Driver to join our team at Laurel Public Schools. As a Bus Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, as well as on field trips and extracurricular activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a school bus safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Ensure the bus is properly maintained and equipped with necessary safety features.
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections to identify any potential safety hazards.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a smooth and safe transportation experience.
  • Enforce student discipline and ensure a safe and respectful environment on the bus.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to maintain and improve driving skills and knowledge of safety procedures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5 years of driving experience, with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to obtain a CDL license and maintain a valid medical certification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols for transporting students.
Working Conditions

The Bus Driver will work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interactions with students, parents, and staff. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on safety and customer service.
