Job Summary

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Perioperative Care team at Ascension Sacred Heart Bay in Panama City, Florida. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide direct nursing care to patients in the perioperative setting, including PACU, PreOp, and Discharge. This is a PRN position, requiring a minimum of 5 shifts or 60 hours within a 4-week schedule period.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients in the perioperative setting, including PACU, PreOp, and Discharge.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans, ensuring effective communication with the healthcare team.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate, utilizing critical thinking skills to make informed decisions.
  • Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal outcomes.
  • Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team, ensuring a smooth transition to post-acute care.
Requirements
  • BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Registered Nurse licensure in Florida required, with credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition Compact State.
  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing or required professional licensure at time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years PACU experience or equivalent critical care experience required.
  • ACLS and PALS certification must be obtained by end of orientation period.
  • ASPAN certification preferred.
