POSITION SUMMARY:

The role involves providing essential support to nursing staff in the Emergency Room, ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care under the supervision of a registered nurse.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) Maintain patient comfort and safety, responding promptly to all requests for assistance.

2) Facilitate patient transport to various locations within the facility as needed.

3) Assist nursing staff with daily living activities and reposition patients according to care plans.

4) Perform vital sign checks, blood glucose monitoring, and other clinical tasks as directed.

5) Ensure the availability of medical supplies and manage inventory effectively.

6) Input and retrieve patient information using electronic medical records systems.

7) Communicate clearly and effectively with team members to ensure coordinated care.

8) Maintain an organized and clean work environment, including nursing stations and patient areas.

9) Assist with the processing of patient admissions and discharges.

10) Document patient care activities accurately in the electronic medical record.

11) Greet patients and assist with the registration process.

12) Provide basic supervision for patients with special needs, including those with psychiatric conditions.

13) Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the Emergency Department.

14) Clean and sterilize medical equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.

15) Support medical staff during procedures and examinations.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Medical Assistant, CNA program, or final year of nursing education.

  • Competency assessment required prior to IV initiation.
