MDS Nursing Coordinator

EmpRes Healthcare is seeking a dedicated MDS Nursing Coordinator to oversee and facilitate the development and completion of the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI), specifically the Minimum Data Set (MDS), Care Area Assessments (CAAs), and Care Plans in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
As a vital member of the Nursing Center Interdisciplinary Team (IDT), you will:
1. Lead the IDT in the timely execution of assessments.
2. Utilize the MDS Scheduler to organize and establish MDS Assessment Reference Dates (ARDs).
3. Communicate ARD selections for specific MDS assessments to the IDT.
4. Conduct Care Area Assessments (CAAs) as necessary.
5. Complete care plan items pertinent to the current MDS and participate in care plan meetings as required.
6. Ensure that the documentation in the medical record supports MDS coding accurately.
7. Engage in Medicare utilization management as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Active Registered Nursing license in the state of employment.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
Preferred:
- A minimum of two years of experience in long-term care settings.
- Familiarity with the Residence Assessment Instrument (RAI) process and MDS certification.
- Experience with Point Click Care (PCC) software.
