Job Summary:
As a Histology Technologist at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality tissue preparations for diagnostic purposes. Your expertise will ensure that tissue specimens are accurately processed, embedded, cut, and stained to meet the needs of our patients and healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare tissue specimens for microscopic examination by grossing, processing, embedding, cutting, and staining.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure the accuracy and staining quality of slides.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment related to tissue preparation and storage.
  • Recognize and report any issues that may affect the quality of tissue preparations.
  • Handle hazardous chemicals used in tissue preparation with care and follow safety protocols.


Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Graduate of an accredited histology program.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment and maintain attention to detail.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a histology laboratory.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and procedures.
