Job Summary

Prince Contracting is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Surveyor II to join our Highway/Roadway Construction team. As a Surveyor II, you will be responsible for conducting surveys on highway and roadway construction projects, operating surveying instruments and equipment, and compiling data into computer software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Surveying Operations: Conduct surveys on highway and roadway construction projects, ensuring accuracy and precision in data collection.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily maintenance and preparation of surveying equipment and vehicles, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Team Collaboration: Assist the Survey Manager in layout and measurements, working closely with the team to ensure project success.
  • Data Analysis: Compare survey computations with applicable standards to determine the accuracy of data, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Quality Control: Verify equipment monthly, ensuring it meets industry standards.
  • Professional Development: Attend safety meetings and training sessions, staying up-to-date with industry best practices.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Survey Manager or other senior team members.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 4+ years of survey experience on highway and roadway construction projects.
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent highly preferred.
  • Language Skills: Must be able to communicate effectively in English or Spanish, due to the nature of the job.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to lift 25 to 50 lbs. several times a day.
  • Flexibility: Must be able to work overtime and be flexible with hours, including daytime and nighttime shifts.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues to achieve project goals.
  • Adaptability: Must be accustomed to working in an outside environment, with varying weather conditions.
  • Pressure Management: Must work well under pressure, meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results.
  • Driver's License: Must possess and maintain a clean Florida driver's license.
