Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Quality Patient Care: Provide skilled nursing care to pediatric patients in the home setting, in compliance with physician orders.
  • Assess Patient Needs: Continuously observe and assess patient condition and care needs, reporting changes to the supervisor and/or physician as necessary.
  • Document Patient Care: Document all activities, assessments, nursing actions, responses, and coordination of care in a timely manner.
  • Participate in Care Planning: Participate in and update the nursing care plan to ensure patient needs are met.
  • Take Appropriate Action: Take appropriate nursing action based on assessment and achieve expected outcomes.
  • Prevent Risk: Recognize changes in patient needs and responses requiring intervention and implement care to prevent risk or reduce risk.
  • Comply with Regulations: Accept responsibility for personal and professional accountability by complying with Aveanna policies, state and federal regulations, accrediting bodies, and the Nurse Practice Act.
  • Provide Education: Educate the patient and family regarding the disease process, self-care techniques, and prevention strategies, and in meeting the patient's nursing needs.
  • Stay Current: Maintain knowledge of competencies related to the nursing profession by participating in educational programs, continued education units, internal learning management skills, and skill evaluations.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Licensure: Current, unrestricted state license as a Licensed Nurse in the state of practice.
  • Certification: Current CPR certification.
  • Experience: Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and compliance with nursing care and policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: Six (6) months of recent experience as a Licensed Nurse in a clinical care setting.
  • Home Health Experience: Home health experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Communication: Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English.
  • Travel: Must be able to travel.
  • Lifting: Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to sufficiently reposition patients and move equipment without assistance.
  • Work Environment: Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions.
